A Job Well Done

I want to join with those congratulating former NFL great Ronnie Lott on the 20-year anniversary of his charity, All-Stars Helping Kids. Ronnie is a class act. I had the privilege of meeting him when he joined with Operation Kids as we presented Steve Young with our Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

I have mentioned this before and I will mention it many, many times in the future. I have tremendous respect for athletes who gain an understanding of what they can do for others with the celebrity they have achieved. Roger Craig said it best:

“Everybody knows what a great football player Ronnie was. But he’s so much larger off the field. So much larger. What he’s doing now is how he’s going to be remembered.”

Congratulations and thanks, Ronnie – for taking your skill and fame and using it to enact change among children.
